I mean, these days, we pretty much use the internet for just about everything. Most people use some form of social media to stay in touch, and others run websites. Shopping on line, Facetime, catching up on news and world events, and so on. On a global scale, whole economies are now run via the internet, along with stock exchanges, and international banking. I believe the world as we know it would end, if the internet were to switch off for just a few hours.
So not having internet has been pretty tough for the last little while, but, after we got the internet back on, it got me thinking - did you know that it is just important for a Christian to be connected to Christ? Check out what Jesus said:
Connected to the Vine
There are but two options for the Christian. The first is to be nothing, do nothing, and be good for nothing but fuel for a fire (and that's what Jesus says in verse 6) The other option is to produce fruit. But it's interesting to see that Jesus says we will "bring forth much fruit."
There is no middle ground with Jesus. Either it's nothing, or everything. Spiritual death, or Abundant life. And there can be no middle ground in our walk with Jesus either. Either you are completely in. Or completely out. You can't serve God and the world. (Matthew 6:24)
So. Are you in the Vine? Or out of the Vine? The choice is yours...
And while you ponder that, I'm going to go watch cat videos on Youtube.
