In our Ministry Preparation course at HopeDivine, we have a lesson on finding the will of God. In that lesson is a quote from Brother David Bernard. He puts it like this: "The Will of God is not mystical, we should be (and can be) in the will of God now. We should do whatever we can, to get into God’s will now."
It's impossible to miss God's Will for your life.
I think sometimes we can be prone to equating "waiting" with "I've missed it". But waiting doesn't mean we sit around doing nothing. In fact, in our waiting time, there are two specific things we can do, and if we can do them, we will find ourselves in the middle of the will of God!
Consecration & Dedication
It's a realisation that our lives are not our own, that we were bought with a price. It's an understanding that we need to wake up each day with an attitude of "Lord, how can I futher your Kingdom today?" It means that when we have a task to do in the Kingdom, we remain dedcated to it. It means the pastor doesn't need to worry if you will be in church or not. It means you keep up your spiritual disciplines - things like daily Bible reading and prayer. When in doubt, do the basics. All of this (and more) is what it means to be consecrated and dedicated.
What does being consecrated & dedicated mean to you? Please comment below, I would love to read your thoughts!
