Recognise Your Dependence on God
Spend Time in the Word
An important part of this that I've found is making sure I get to church. The best place to hear the Word is when you go to church. To often we search for excuses to skip church. Sometimes, we can be just plain lazy.
Do What You Know To Do
Waiting. It's the hardest thing to do, when you are walking by faith. But have you ever wondered what the disciples did while they were waiting for the promise of the Father? I think they simply did what they knew to do. I can imagine someone suggested "How about we pray? Jesus taught us how to pray didn't He?" Maybe someone then recalled what Jesus had asked them to pray for; for labourers, for the harvest. Maybe they recalled the time they sung hymns together, and so someone started singing.
My point is that when you don't know what to do, do what you know to do. Don't ditch going to church. Read your Bible every day. Pray, even when the heavens feel like brass, because Jesus answers prayer. To pray is the connect the finite with the infinite, the mortal with immortality and the limited with the limitless. Spend time worshiping Jesus. Lift your hands, even when you feel defeated, discouraged, or down. Praise Him for his goodness, while you wait for Him to help you. Do what you know to do.
